Conveniently located in Darlington town centre, 15 minutes from the A1, Wheelbase North East opened its doors in May 2016. Local legend Danny Hart officially opened the store, and his Descend Bike Park is only 25 minutes away, in Hamsterley Forest – home to some of the best trail riding in the North East.

We currently stock bikes from Cannondale, Trek, Whyte, Yeti, Santa Cruz, Frog Bikes, Cervelo and Cube E-Bikes – with over 120 on display in-store as well as a full range of clothing and accessories. Our experienced team are readily available to offer assistance and advice and the workshop is on hand to service your bike maintenance needs.

Great riding is on our doorstep with the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales offering superb but tough routes – PedalNorth has a great selection of MTB, leisure and road rides in the surrounding areas, including Hamsterley Forest. Ample public parking is available behind the store on Commercial St.

 


Wheelbase is my preferred workshop to get my bikes serviced and maintained. They know me and I trust them to look after me and my bikes.

The store has a great selection of different branded road bikes, staff are very knowledgeable and not at all pushy, they want to make sure you get the right bike for your needs (Thank you Bernice) Wheelbase Ilkley had been recommended to me and glad I went, I was looking for a Marida, and ended up with an amazing bike and at an excellent price, great experience and service, thanks guys, keep up the good work, cheers Tony
