Located in the picturesque village of Staveley, the UK’s largest cycle store is only 15 minutes’ drive from the M6 motorway and 10 minutes from Windermere. With over 600 bikes on display in store, spread across our massive 16,000 sq. ft. premises, we have dedicated areas for Road, MTB, E-Bike, Women, Kids and everything in between. Our staff are all passionate cyclists, specialising in a variety of disciplines, united by a love of all things two wheels. We currently stock bikes from; Brompton, Cannondale, Cervelo, Cube, Frog Bikes, Genesis, Merida, Orbea, Riese & Muller, Scott, Trek, Whyte, Wild Bikes and Yeti.

Based in Staveley Mill Yard, we’re a true destination store for your next visit to the Lake District. On our doorstep we have Wilf’s Café – with a great selection of cakes and lunches and More? Bakery – for freshly baked goods and great coffee. The Eagle and Child bed and breakfast Inn, run by an avid mountain biker, has rooms if you’re staying for the weekend and offers great pub grub and a selection of local ales.

Our precision fit team offer a professional bike fitting service in store, tailored to suit your riding. We run a fully equipped workshop and our team of qualified mechanics are on hand to offer advice and servicing as your bicycle requires. Our friendly team are always happy to offer advice on local routes, with superb Lakeland trails, leisure and road riding straight from our store – PedalNorth has a great selection of routes, including our go-to ride around the Kentmere Valley.

There is a great community of cyclists here in the Lake District and we run and participate in many local events throughout the year – including our annual MTB Demo weekend in Spring.

Purchased a Cannondale Supersix 2, very competitive on price, but what really stood out was the quality of the service on the phone. I was able to speak to a "human" quickly and they were really accommodating with my questions and suspending delivery for a day, was just an easy verbal request. With the ongoing AI and digitisation of companies ever pursuing cost cutting it's refreshing to deal with a company thats treats customer service as a integral part of their offer. I will not hesitate to use Wheelbase again.

The service team were friendly and supportive from the off. They listened to what we required and met our service needs full, efficiently and at really good cost (which was a lovely surprise!). We met the mechanic personally and he was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about bikes, which is what you want in a mechanic. Communication was good throughout.
